Albion have captured left winger Kevin McLeod from relegated Colchester on a Bosman free transfer.

The 27-year-old Liverpudlian has agreed a two-year contract with the Seagulls from July 1.

Albion boss Micky Adams worked with the versatile McLeod last season when he was assistant manager at Colchester.

"He is a left winger who can also play centre forward as well and can possibly fill in at leftback if we were desperate," Adams said.

"He gave some outstanding performances in the Championship for Colchester. He will give us pace, he can deliver crosses and he has enthusiasm.

"He isn't a shy boy, so he will also liven the dressing room up to some degree."

McLeod, formerly with Everton, QPR and Swansea, is Adams' second signing of the close season following the arrival last week of Irish centre half Colin Hawkins from Coventry What do you think?
