Roberto De Zerbi says it has been “difficult” for Leandro Trossard to bounce back after the World Cup.

But the Albion boss expects to see the best from the Belgium international soon.

Trossard has been operating as the furthest player forward since returning from Qatar due to injury to Danny Welbeck.

De Zerbi said: “I think he can play in a winger position or striker.

“If you think of Welbeck and Trossard, they play in the striker position but in a different way.

“Leo plays in his way.

“After the World Cup I think it is difficult for him.

“For Moises (Caicedo) the same and for other players who are playing in other teams.

“It is difficult to restart but we wait because for us he is a very important player, Leo.”
