Jens Scheuer has made his first signing as head coach of Albion in the WSL.

He has brought in Norway defender Guro Bergsvand on a deal until June 2025, subject to international clearance.

Bergsvand, 28, has played for Stabaek, Lyn, and SK Brann in Norway's Toppserien and was in her national squad at last summer’s Euros.

Scheuer spoke recently about the need to add to the squad.

That process is now under way as the former Bayern Munich boss prepares his team for the resumption of the league season.

Scheuer said: "Firstly we are happy that Guro has chosen to join us, I am sure that she will help us stabilise the defence.

"She has a lot of experience domestically in Norway as well as with her national team so it’s a really good signing for us.

“We are convinced by her quality, so I have no doubt that she won’t need long to adapt to the league.”

Albion go to rock bottom Leicester City a week on Sunday as WSL action returns.
