Roberto De Zerbi hailed his intelligent players as they outclassed Liverpool.

Albion are seventh in the Premier League after a commanding 3-0 win at the Amex.

It was a first home win since the 4-1 demolition of Chelsea.

Head coach De Zerbi said: "When you win it is always a good day.

"We are improving in quality of play, we are clear.

"My idea is very clear.

"We are improving in all aspects."

Asked whether he was surprised at how his side took Liverpool apart, De Zerbi said: "Surprised, no – but surprised for the different tactical disposition of Liverpool.

"For example, Alexander-Arnold in the first half, was higher.

"They defended in a three but we had to find the different situation.

"I have very smart players, they understand immediately when there is a different situation.

"Now they know what they have to do on the pitch, depending on the different situation."
