Albion teen Facundo Buonanotte has rejoined the Argentina under-20 squad.

He spent Saturday night in hospital after suffering a head injury.

Buonanotte has since been discharged but misses their South American Championship match versus Brazil.

He was stretchered off late in his side’s 2-1 defeat by Paraguay on Saturday.

But family, friends and fans were assured he was in a good condition.

A statement from the Argentinean FA revealed he suffered “cervical spine and skull trauma during the match against Paraguay. The footballer is in good condition and is under observation while the pertinent studies are carried out.”

Buonanotte spent the night in a Cali hospital as a precautionary measure.

Ole.com.ar reported he suffered "a head injury with loss of consciousness and, beyond the fact that the studies gave good results, the doctors decided that Facundo should spend the night in the hospital as a precaution".

He had been named as sub by boss Javier Mascherano and went on after an hour.

The injury happened as he fell awkwardly when contesting a high ball with two opponents.

Mascherano said after the match: "Facu is now under observation. From what they told me, he will stay in the clinic until tomorrow. But the analyses and the tomography that they did are all negative.

“So I want to bring peace of mind to his family and friends.”
