Moises Caicedo has shut out the transfer talk – as his confidence soars after the World Cup.

The Albion midfielder says his adventures in Qatar with Ecuador have made him a better player.

He has attracted a lot of interest, with Chelsea reported to have bid for his services.

But Albion have no intention of selling him in this window.

Asked if he was unsettled by transfer talk, Caicedo told The Argus: “No. To be sincere with you, I am focused now on Brighton I am here, I’m playing every day.

“What happens outside doesn’t trouble me, nor does it take that focus away because I’m focused only on here. I’m here today, I’ll be here tomorrow and then we will see.”

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi has praised Caicedo’s mature approach to the attention.

Caicedo said: “I handle it well. You hear rumours here and there but I only try to be focused on the club where I am now, the club which opened the doors for me to be playing every week.”

The 21-year-old has settled back into club action quickly after the emotional highs and lows of the World Cup.

He said: “The most difficult part for me was getting used to the cold again, nothing else!

“For the rest, I have been focused on doing things very well and be up there fighting for a good position with Brighton.

“Personally, it has been very good. I feel like I have a lot more confidence on the pitch and the truth is I am doing things well here and I’m very happy about that.

“In the World Cup you get the best players in the world.

“I think out there they show their experience more than anything.

“I have come back with more experience gained over there and then here I have that confidence that I am showing in every match.”

Caicedo said he is relishing the football are playing under Roberto De Zerbi.

He added: "We are getting better all the time. There’s an evolution with every match. We all understand each other better.

"The coach is giving us that confidence to always do things well on the pitch.

"Roberto has really helped me in bringing the ball out from the back and I think I have learned it well.

"I enjoy playing the ball out from the back. We do it well, coming out from deep positions. It is his preferred system and I’m enjoying it."
