Solly March says he has "probably" never had a better chance of earning an England call-up.

But his focus will remain firmly on helping Albion push for Europe.

The Seagulls wideman is in the form of his life – and has added a goalscoring touch to his game.

He would love to impress senior England boss Gareth Southgate, one of two managers under whom he played in the under-21s.

The 28-year-old believes his chances will be enhanced if Albion continue to fly high in the Premier League.

March said: “Obviously you want to represent your country, it’s a big honour.

“Now is probably the biggest chance I have to do that.

“I just need to keep going and keep scoring goals and put in the performance.

“It’s an ambition of mine so if I keep putting in performances and scoring goals I think I have a chance.”

March was capped three times by the under-21s, the last of them under Aidy Boothroyd, for whom he also played four times in the under-20s.

Albion’s XI which kicked off the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace featured five players who have recently been part of senior international squads.

March said: “If you are playing for a club who are doing well in the league, you never know.

“If everyone puts in the effort and we end up in Europe, who knows if they can get a call up?”
