Albion are one of the favourites to make it to the final of the FA Cup, according to bookmakers.

Betting website Oddschecker puts the chances of the Seagulls playing in the final of the tournament at 2/1.

The team’s odds are only beaten by Manchester City, who are the favourites to win this year’s competition.

The last and only time Albion made it to the final of the FA Cup was in 1983, when Brighton was beaten 4-0 by Manchester United in a replay, after initially drawing 2-2.

The Seagulls advanced into the quarter-finals of the tournament yesterday after securing a 1-0 victory against Stoke City.

Teenage forward Evan Ferguson scored the crucial goal, with Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi praising him as “unique”.

De Zerbi said: “He is unique for us in terms of quality, in terms of characteristic. He knows very well the way to score.”
