Adam Lallana has revealed the words from Roberto De Zerbi which have got him fired up for the run-in.

The Albion midfielder is working hard to recover from hamstring surgery as Albion push for Europe on two fronts.

He is determined to play some part in Premier League and FA Cup challenges after being reminded of his importance by the head coach.

Lallana said: “We all have insecurities. My body has let me down numerous times.

“But he said to me every one game I play for him was like any other player playing five.

“For him to say that makes you feel on top of the world.

“He says what I do is enough and he'll wait for me while I'm injured.

“How can you not admire or respect a man like that?

“He just makes you feel special, valued.”

Lallana, who signed a new contract recently, says De Zerbi has given him a new lease of life.

He added: “There's a certain level of charisma.

“I want to have demands put on me to be better, to improve, especially at the age I'm at.

“You've got young lads coming through.

“I want to, and I need to, be better. I need to follow him.

“I need to learn tactically but, although their demands are there, there's these reassuring feelings that he gives you.”

In The Argus tomorrow, Lallana reveals how it felt to see Albion outclass the club he helped to Premier League and Champions League honours when they beat Liverpool 3-0.

And he tells fans to enjoy special times and appreciate the football being served up as Albion go into what could be a momentous few weeks.
