Roberto De Zerbi will talk to the media tomorrow ahead of Albion’s game with Brentford.

He has already said a lot in his various press conferences as head coach.

Here is a reminder of some of the key answers he has given of late.

On good form meaning interest in him…

We are happy because the people are speaking about our quality of play and we are proud. We can only be focussed on the next games, we have a clear focus, a clear target and for the players and me it’s the same. I have a long contract with Brighton, I am happy to work here, I am enjoying working with these players. I am delighted for the performance of my players, I can’t ask more because it’s a good moment of my life.

On Moises Caicedo signing a new deal…

I was honest with him and I told him what was my opinion and my idea. I spoke with him about my vision, but not for my interest or for the club, but for his interest. I spoke like a father because he is young, I have two children who are almost the same age, if I can help my players, that is my work. I think he’s a good guy and it can happen to think in a different way. But if you trust in your player, you have to believe in him. You have to give him your opinion and idea to make the right decision. For him, it was important to stay at least another six months, I hope another two years. But first to finish this season with his team-mates and club, it’s important for him.

On thriving under pressure…

I need pressure and if you work and put yourself in 100% and work honestly and seriously, you can’t suffer the pressure.

The Argus:

On fixture congestion being a problem…

I have a great squad of players. We are ready to fight against every team. For the question, three games in a week is better because we are lucky to play football, to work in football and it will never be a problem for us to play many games.

On what he has learnt as Albion boss…

I don’t know how much I have learnt, but for sure I love working here at this club and with these players, I know the Premier League is a very strong competition and that it has the best coaches in the world. I am young, no? I am one of the younger coaches in the Premier League and for this I have to have more energy, passion every day. The work isn’t my problem, because if your work is your passion, it’s not a problem to work hard or many hours every day.

On how high Albion can aim…

In the dressing room, I decide our target and I hope the players believe in me when I speak. Football is very nice because on the pitch you can be with money or without money the same. There are 22 players, one ball, and you have to fight to win. The shirt is not important, it’s important what you have to do on the pitch. I think for the moment we deserve our place in the table.”

The Argus:

On Kaoru Mitoma's future...

Mitoma is a crucial part of the team for us because one-against-one in the last 25 metres, he’s one of the most important players. For him it’s the first year in the Premier League, it’s important for us, but also for him. it’s important for him to play another year with us. We don’t have time to speak about the transfer market because we have another three months to play and for us to reach our target.
