Pascal Gross wants to silence Stamford Bridge on Frank Lampard’s return home.

The Albion midfielder expects Chelsea fans to be in good voice when they host Albion on Saturday.

It will be their first home game since their idol Lampard returned as caretaker boss.

But Gross, who scored twice to spoil Eric Ten Hag’s first game in charge at Manchester United this season, can see that motivating the Seagulls too.

The midfielder expects Albion to bounce back from their controversial defeat at Tottenham.

He said: “Probably the fans will be very loud at the beginning and try to support them as much as they can.

“We need to be even better then, so the crowd is not too loud.

"It depends on us, how we play and then hopefully we can use our chances and we have also a fair game.”

Lampard has stepped in after Chelsea sacked former Albion boss Graham Potter.

The manner of Potter’s departure from the Amex, along with five members of staff, means there has been interest in Brighton in how Chelsea have fared.

Gross said: “Whenever I can, I watch the games and they are really good side, have a lot of quality players and it will be a tough test for us.”

Asked whether he was surprised Potter failed to enjoy success at Stamford Bridge, Gross said: “Maybe yes, because they're a good club, they have a lot of quality players.

“But football is not always easy.

“I don't know all the circumstances he had to deal with.

“It's unfortunate for him and all his staff because they've been good people, but now he’s not manager there.

“There's a game on Saturday. We have to prepare.“
