Saturday, April 15, turned into wonderful afternoon for Sussex football fans as no fewer than six of our top sides claimed important wins.

The Albion continued to impress in the Premier League, taking on and beating Chelsea in their own back yard. With nine league matches still to play that win has once again given the club every opportunity to fight out a European Champions League place.

At the Broadfield Stadium Crawley Town survived a late penalty scare to take an all important three points against Tranmere in their League two survival bid. The win was a real shot in the arm for all CTFC connections and hopefully it will be the catalyst for further victories.

In National South both Worthing and Eastbourne Borough enjoyed big home wins as their play-off hopes were rejuvenated. With just two weekends left there is a slim chance that both clubs could extend their season.

Lewes of the Dripping Pan and Hastings of Pilot Field enjoyed home wins which has left both clubs with a chance of making Isthmian Premier play-offs.

Whitehawk of the Enclosed Ground battled out a draw at Ramsgate to cement their Isthmian South East play-off chances.

Sussex has a proud football tradition and to have six of our top sides all winning at the same time has given Sussex football fans a massive lift. It's left Sussex looking towards a spellbinding and exciting climax to the 2022/23 season.
