Adam Lallana will not be part of Albion’s matchday squad at Wembley.

But he continues to have a part to play among the staff.

Lallana was pictured playing what looked a significant part in training in the run-up to the weekend.

He has travelled with the team throughout his absence with a hamstoring issue.

That will be the case again at Wembley.

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi said: “Lallana is better.

“He is not ready to play but he will be on the bench with us like at Stamford Bridge.

“Lallana is important on the pitch if he plays or he doesn’t play.”

De Zerbi has previously said Robert Sanchez would keep goal at Wembley but his return came earlier, at Chelsea.

That was due to what was reported as a minor injury for Jason Steele.

De Zerbi said yesterday that Steele was still not 100%.

With the head coach giving little away over Joel Veltman or Evan Ferguson, it appears unclear what XI he will send out.

Levi Colwill is available again but Adam Webster had a good game at the back at Chelsea.

United welcome back Bruno Fernandes from a midweek Europa League ban which ruled him out of the 3-0 defeat by Sevilla.

They could start Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw, who both played the second half in Spain on Thursday.
