Albion were keeping a close eye on three injury doubts over the weekend.

It appeared Joel Veltman was the least likely of the three to play against Everton.

There was more hope for Evan Ferguson and Pascal Gross although Roberto De Zerbi did not seem overly optimistic when he spoke late on Thursday evening.

If Gross again misses out, Moises Caicedo looks a fair bet to start at right-back.

That in turn appears to make Billy Gilmour and Alexis Mac Allister an obvious pick in the midfield engine room.

Further forward is where there could be more doubts.

Solly March was not ready to start against United but was certainly lively when he went on as sub.

It would seem likely he returns to the XI today.

Julio Enciso has stated a strong claim for a place either on the left or in the No.10 berth.

But Deniz Undav will also be in De Zerbi’s thoughts.

As ever, it not just about the XI. Not for the first time, Albion got good contributions from their subs against United.

Andrew Moran and Cam Peupion were both on the bench on Thursday and played for the under-21s 24 hours later.
