Lewis Dunk has been hailed as perfect for international football.
Expectation is growing that the Albion skipper could be close to an England recall.
It is understood a call for forthcoming Euro qualifiers is considered likely.
Former England defender Micah Richards said he would have Dunk in his team of the season.
He told BBC 5Live listeners: “All accolades are given for defending but it is his build-up play which I am most impressed with.
“To see him leading that team….
“You talk about international football - he would be absolutely perfect.
“We want to play with Pickford because he is better on the ball, people would say, than Pope.
“You have got someone like Dunk in there who can thread those balls through at the right pace.
“Everything he has done this year has been outstanding and he would be in my team of the season.”
