Alexis Mac Allister says he is calm about his future – and would be happy to stay with Albion this summer.

The Argentina midfielder is relaxing in Miami before reporting for international duty.

He has been excitedly linked in some quarters with a potential move to Liverpool and head coach Roberto De Zerbi recognises he could leave, although The Argus were told this week no communication over a move was taking place.

Mac Allister was asked about a summer switch to Anfield when he spoke to infoabae.com, a major Spanish language online newspaper based in South Florida.

He said: “I am very calm because I also have the possibility of staying at a club like Brighton who have been with me at all moments and where I have really enjoyed being.

“If I end up not leaving the club I will still be very happy there but I am conscious of the fact there will be possibilities and, if a good offer for the club and for me comes in, we will evaluate it.”

Mac Allister made it clear he would like to remain in the Premier League.

He added: “I have no doubts it is currently the best league to play in and that is why I am conscious that I’d like my next club to be in the Premier League.

“I really enjoy being there and the people have always been ten-out-of-ten in how they treat me and for me that is very important.

Infobae reported Mac Allister has bought a property in the luxurious Edgewater district, on the banks of Biscayne Bay and a short drive from both downtown Miami and South Beach.

He has taken time to compile a video review of the club season which has been posted on social media.

Although the video ends with emotional post-match scenes at Villa Park, the other images and the wording offer no hint of a farewell and are purely a celebration of Albion’s season.

Mac Allister tells followers: “Three-and-a-half years ago, we were fighting (against) relegation and today, after so much sacrifice, suffering and work, this group will be in the history of this club for becoming the first time this club will play Europe League.

“We achieved it all together and that’s why we have to feel very proud.”
