Mahmoud Dahoud will arrive at Albion ready for hard work.

The Germany midfielder has been described as a technically gifted player who loves to graft by a former Seagulls favourite.

Dahoud will join on a four-year deal once his current contract at Borussia Dortmund expires on June 30.

He will team up with Roberto De Zerbi’s squad for pre-season and have a first real chance to shine on the trip to the USA.

Former Albion defender Uwe Huenemeier knows Dahoud, 27, well from the German league.

Huenemeier told the Argus: “He is a very technically gifted player, predominantly with his right foot.

“Good short passing, always well-orientated in the middle of the park.

“He likes to go forward and break lines, even though I wouldn’t say that he is super fast.

“On the other hand, he’s got a great work ethic.

“He doesn’t consider himself too good to go into tackles and do the shabby work.

“He likes to shoot from distance at times.

“He seems to be always well-respected by his team-mates and I’ve only heard good things about him, even in times when he didn’t play too much.”

Dahoud has played in 43 Champions or Europa League ties in his time with Dortmund and Borussia Moenchengladbach and De Zerbi is a long-time admirer.

The Albion boss said: “I’m excited to have Mahmoud in my team.

“I wanted him when I was at Sassuolo and I’m sure he is going to be a top player for us.”
