David Moyes says Roberto De Zerbi is messing with manager’s minds, helped by his ‘Steady Eddies’.

The West Ham boss is all too aware of his club’s record against the Seagulls in the Premier League.

They chase their first win in 13 such fixtures when they visit the Amex tomorrow.

De Zerbi has emerged as one of the brightest tactical minds in the Prem.

Long-server Moyes said: “He is messing up a lot of manager’s heads, but this is the world at the moment, with so many different varieties of football.

“I think he has some really talented players and some really ‘Steady Eddies’, who turn up week in and week out.”

Moyes was shocked to discover West Ham’s poor record against Albion in Prem fixtures when he returned to the club – and made it clear after a 3-3 draw in which his side let slip a 3-1 lead.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game, he said: “It has been a bit of a bugbear that we have not been able to beat them.

“We go there in good spirits but they have won their first two matches by three goals or four goals in each game – just about – so they are in really good form.

“They’re difficult opponents and they are arguably as difficult as they have ever been. They are showing that by their league position.

“We have to play extremely well to get a result. There is a first for everything so let’s hope this is the one.”
