Albion fans hope to see Lewis Dunk make his competitive debut for England today.

The Three Lions continue their qualification programme towards Euro 2024 by facing Ukraine in Poland (5pm).

Dunk would love to add to his one cap, gained in a friendly against the USA.

England boss Gareth Southgate would appear to face a decision in central defence over stalwart Harry Maguire, who has been short of playing time with Manchester United.

Former Albion loanee Levi Colwill is also a contender to start.

Southgate gave away little about his selection plans at a press conference last night.

But Dunk goes into the weekend in the best form of his career and having shown new sides to his game under Graham Potter and now Roberto De Zerbi.

Southgate believes whoever gets the nod in Wroclaw will face a stern test.

He said: “It’s a difficult game for us against a team we respect a lot.

“We know we have to be at our very best to get the win we want.”

A decision over whether Jordan Henderson plays was a focus for attention as Southgate faced the media.

The England boss said: “I don’t pick the team based on external reaction.

“He’s a very experienced professional. He is very mature at handling any situation really.

“He has trained really well this week, the whole group has and everyone is available, which is good for us.”

England have a friendly against Scotland at Hampden Park on Tuesday.

Albion midfielder Billy Gilmour started for Scotland away to Cyprus last night in a Euro 2024 qualifier.
