Gennaro Gattuso says Marseille will be playing under pressure when they face Albion at a packed Stade Velodrome.

The new head coach hopes fans can get right behind his side on his home debut.

But he is aware his side need to start their game well to get an uneasy fanbase back on side.

Speaking in his press conference this afternoon, Gattuso said: “It is our duty to light up the Velodrome because the supporters can help you.

"But, if you play badly in the first 20 minutes, the atmosphere can lose itself a bit.

There will be a lot of pressure. It is down to us to handle it.

“The reading of the match is simple.

“They are a team who always play the same with a lot of possession.

If you had to give them a title, it would be “courage and without fear”.

“If you press, you have to be careful because they are very good at playing out.

“You have to play, not be timid. Players change but the philosophy always stays the same with this team.”

Gattuso will go head-to-head with his compatriot Roberto De Zerbi on the touchline.

The OM boss said: “Roberto De Zerbi is one of the best Italian coaches right now. I rate him highly.

“We need to play without fear.

“There will be a great atmosphere with close to 65,000 fans.”
