Roberto de Zerbi last night confirmed an “important” injury setback for Albion on the eve of their first European away match.
But the head coach has challenged his side to win without sidelined Pervis Estupinan.
De Zerbi expects to be missing his left-back for about a month after an injury suffered at Aston Villa.
Albion will make a late call on Pascal Gross, who has travelled to Provence after recovering from injury.
Confirming a muscular problem for Estupinan, De Zerbi said: “He is an important player we are losing but, anyway, we can play in that position with (Tariq) Lamptey, with Igor, with other players.
“We have to be ready to change and to play, like in the first game in the Europa League without Lewis (Dunk).
“We played without Pascal Gross and we have to be enough to get the result with or without important players.”
