Sam Jewell is firmly expected to stay with Albion – despite reported interest from Rangers.

The Ibrox outfit have been linked with a move for the Seagulls’ head of recruitment as they look to restructure their football management set-up.

However The Argus have been told by a well-placed source this afternoon that Jewell is “not going anywhere” as he continues to help Albion secure talent from around the world.

Any move for Jewell from the Scottish club would appear to be highly optimistic - or wishful thinking - given he is in the early stages of an exciting project with Roberto De Zerbi and David Weir to help establish Albion in the upper reaches of the Premier League and, if possible, on the European stage.

The Glasgow Times earlier today "rubbished" suggestions Rangers had made an approach for Jewell.
