Albion’s double Dutch connection savoured a proud night against Ajax.
Jan Paul van Hecke and Joel Veltman played in defence against their nation’s most famous club.
Van Hecke said: “It is a proud moment for everyone and the club.
“We had a lot of control with the ball. In the second half we had a bit more space.
“We can build on this and gain confidence. I am always proud to be in the team and against Ajax."
Albion dominated possession and van Hecke said: “If we are playing out from the back and it is effective, then we do it. We do not just do it to look nice."
Former Ajax man Veltman added: “It was amazing for us as a club, it is very important for us.
“We came from the bottom, ask Dunky (long-serving captain Lewis Dunk) about that!
“Now we are in Europe. We are happy with that.”
