EVAN FERGUSON is ready to go again after his early-season momentum was halted.

The Albion striker scored his first Premier League in two months to give his side the lead against Fulham.

He has suffered injury and illness since a hat-trick against Newcastle which had fans, ex-players and pundits across the country talking.

There was little chance to build on that treble as he was forced out of the subsequent international fixtures and struggled to hit previous highs when he returned.

Ferguson said: “It was very frustrating for me, especially coming off the back of that.

“Having a bit of an injury, then coming back and then having an illness, but there’s not really a lot you can do about it.

“A few games after that trying to find your feet and get your fitness back but I’m feeling all right now.”

Ferguson scored in a recent win for Republic of Ireland over Gibraltar and felt that trip with the national team was beneficial.

He said: “Yes, definitely, especially playing good minutes over there, I definitely got fitness back. I’m feeling good now.”

Albion missed a chance to leapfrog Newcastle and return to sixth spot in the Premier League as they dropped two points.

Ferguson said: “It’s frustration, really. We had chances in the first half that I think, if you look back on them now, we regret.

“We played well in the first half but they came out and made it scrappy and that’s how it went.”
