Joao Pedro has made his senior international debut for Brazil.
The Albion forward went on as substitute for the injured Vinicius Junior in a World Cup qualifier away to Colombia.
Brazil lost 2-1 having led for a long time.
They now prepare to host world champions Argentina at the Maracana.
Joao Pedro did not produce a particularly distinguished performance, albeit in a team who are going through a testing time.
One Brazilian reporter told The Argus: "He had one half-opportunity to score and, apart from that, he barely had a chance to touch the ball."
