Roberto De Zerbi is talking with Albion about a new contract.
The head coach confirmed discussions had opened as he spoke to the media ahead of the visit from Brentford.
He said: “I feel very well in Brighton. I have a great relationship with the players, with the club, with Tony (Bloom, club chairman), with Paul Barber, David Weir and everybody who works in Brighton.
“Yes, we are speaking about the new contract but at the moment we are speaking, it’s not done yet.
“I usually work to be happy and to enjoy and I feel very good in Brighton.
“In the end, we have to analyse the target.
“If the targets are the same as the club, it is an honour for me working in Brighton.
“I don’t try to reach the higher level, the most important for me is working seriously, work with a good team, good players.
“But, anyway, it is important for me to fix an important target."
