Versatile Jack Hinshelwood has been told he can be the next Pascal Gross.
The teenage midfielder has fared well at left-back since coming into the senior side.
He has impressed Roberto De Zerbi with his versatility.
The Albion boss said: "I would like to have three, four Pascal Gross, three or four Jack Hinshelwoods. Joel Veltman. They can play everywhere.
“I believe Pascal can play striker, winger. centre-back. Hinshelwood the same.
“The only difference between them is the age.
“I think they are very close in terms of attitude.
“In terms of quality. Jack Hinshelwood can be the new Pascal Gross.”
Hinshelwood played centre-back, like his dad Adam, as a boy but came through the Albion ranks as a holding midfielder.
He has more recently played in a more attacking midfield role alongside Andrew Moran with the under-21s.
De Zerbi gave him full-back duties during the pre-season trip to the USA.
