Albion fans were overjoyed to see one of their own score the winner against Brentford last night.

Eighteen year old Jack Hinshelwood scored his first ever senior goal with a back post header early in the second half as Brighton beat the Bees 2-1.

Brighton and Brentford fans had to find alternative ways to the match due to the Aslef train drivers strike. One of these options was a shuttle bus service set up by the club to help fans.

De Zerbi’s side were on top for large parts of the game but were sucker-punched by a Bryan Mbeumo penalty 27 minutes in. Defender Jan Paul van Hecke brought down Janelt who burst through Albion’s midfield and looked free on goal.

Albion’s captain for the night Pascal Gross popped up just four minutes later with a powerful effort from outside the box into the bottom right hand corner to draw the hosts level.

Brighton went ahead through Jack Hinshelwood, son of Adam who played for Albion between 2002 and 2009.

He rose up to meet Pascal Gross’ cross at the back post 52 minutes in for his first Premier League goal.

Despite a fairly nervy ending, Albion saw the game out and came out 2-1 victors.
