Simon Hooper will referee Albion’s game at home to Burnley.
The Wiltshire-based official made unwanted headlines last weekend when he failed to play an advantage for Manchester City in their 3-3 draw with Tottenham.
Before that error he had, according to most reports, had a good game in charge of a high-profile Premier League encounter.
Hooper refereed Liverpool's win at Sheffield United in midweek.
His last Albion game was the 1-1 draw at home to Manchester City towards the end of last season.
His VAR will be leading Prem ref Michael Oliver.
