Roberto De Zerbi said he could not risks with some key players as he picked his team to face Burnley.
The Seagulls boss introduced Kaoru Mitoma and Billy Gilmour at half-time and Igor and Facundo Buonanotte during the second half as his side chased a come-from-behind win.
Gilmour had been praised by De Zerbi as a midfield driving force in the run-up to the game.
Albion started with Joao Pedro wide on the left but he did not look comfortable in the role.
RDZ very disappointed in his press conference. Counting the points that have got away (not just today). "The attitude of the players was great. Maybe in 1st half we weren't with right energy, speed of the ball wasn't right. We could be stronger when we were attacking." #bhafc

Asked about the selection, De Zerbi told The Argus: “Mitoma was not available to play 90 minutes.
“I think not about changing but to not take risks.
“Mitoma was a risk, Billy Gilmour was a risk, Igor was a risk.
“Facundo Buonanotte couldn’t play 90 minutes.
“I have to decide the first XI before the game. After the game we can discuss the result.”
Joel Veltman missed the game for personal reasons.
Albion face Marseille on Thursday as part of a busy December.
