Albion had to settle for a point after pushing hard for a win against Burnley.

The performance gained in tempo as it went on after a fits-and-starts first half.

This is how they performed as individuals.

BART VERBRUGGEN 7/10

Sounded disappointed to be beaten by the deflected goal but made an important double stop early in the second half. Other than that, did all that was required.

PASCAL GROSS 9/10

Was tireless again, both in terms of legwork and imagination, and was a big reason behind the point gained and the all-out assault on the other two. Finds pockets of space and angles of pass, including his ball in for the goal and several other dangerous deliveries. Had colleagues in support when his first-half shot was save by Trafford but was there a clear path for the pass?

JAN PAUL VAN HECKE 7/10

More than a stopper at the back as he gets around the pitch and set up a chance for Ferguson after earlier heading one wide himself.

LEWIS DUNK 7/10

A decent return from suspension. Seems to have a clear picture of the game as play builds up and his early passes can help Albion change angles of attack.

JAMES MILNER 6/10

His attempt to get across and block a shot ended in the deflection which put Burnley ahead. While not being the flying machine Albion would ideally have at left-back, is doing a professional job and was among those who tested Trafford.

CARLOS BALEBA 6/10

Employed in the deeper role he played against Brentford. Not as eye-catching this time but it looks a good option for his qualities.

MAHMOUD DAHOUD 6/10

Was playing well when he was sent off recently but did not really pick up from there on his return to league action. Not always precise with his passing although he certainly got hold of a shot which flew narrowly over.

SIMON ADINGRA 8/10

A real threat, especially in the second half. Got into a great position for his goal and it wasn’t the first time. As Kompany revealed afterwards, his presence can attract two defenders which should open gaps for others. On a less positive note, it looked like he was the defender best-placed to close down Odobert’s shot when Burnley scored.

ADAM LALLANA 6/10

Again just the 45 minutes and did some nice stuff in that period when Albion got on top around the middle of the first half.

JOAO PEDRO 6/10

Looked uncomfortable in his first-half role – hesitant with the ball and beaten defensively by Vitinho in an attack from which Burnley should have done more. Was more of a threat in a very congested central area in the second 45.

EVAN FERGUSON 6/10

Battled against the big men and got into some good positions but should probably have done better with a couple of headers and a mis-communication over a flick which somehow made the TV highlights.

SUBS – KAORU MITOMA 7.5/10

Looked like he could get down the outside with ease and provided Albion with greater threat and structure. Twice unfortunate not to score.

BILLY GILMOUR 7/10

Added tempo and direction to midfield after his half-time introduction.

IGOR 7/10

Is such a dependable rock for Albion now and by the end was the mainstay in defence while always looking to be positive and constructive in possession.

JACK HINSHELWOOD 7/10

Offers a good dimension coming from deep. The positive was the positions he go into, the negative that he should have scored another winning goal.

FACUNDO BUONANOTTE N/A

Sent on for Dunk as an attack-minded switch and drilled in one dangerous low cross.
