Albion will take stock of their various injuries before making any moves in the January window.
But Roberto De Zerbi could not offer mush cause for optimism when asked about three key players.
The head coach was asked by The Argus whether there was any update on Tariq Lamptey, Adam Webster and Pervis Estupinan yesterday in his press conference ahead of the Arsenal game.
He replied: “They need, I don’t know, but many weeks more.”
Albion have lost Solly March long term but Danny Welbeck is expected to return to the squad today.
Asked whether he is planning yet with chairman Tony Bloom for the next transfer widow, De Zerbi said: “I haven’t spoken yet with him.
“We have to analyse the injury situation and then we try the best solution.”
To a question as to whether he would like additions next month, De Zerbi said: “No, I would like the players available to play.”
Ansu Fati will remain absent for another two months while there is a hope that Julio Enciso will return in January.
Injuries have robbed De Zerbi of the attacking edge he likes from full-back although Jack Hinshelwood has done a good job bringing his own interpretation to that role.
Albion will enter 2024 well-placed to kick on both in domestic and European competitions.
But any additions made to cover for absentees could lead to overloading when the injured players return.
