Roberto De Zerbi believes Albion need to add to their squad in January.

The head coach says full-back is among three or four positions which need strengthening.

De Zerbi revealed ahead of the Arsenal game that his January thinking would be shaped by the injury situation at the club.

He emphasised that at a press conference today – after confirming Joel Veltman could be out for two months.

De Zerbi said: “About the transfer market, I explained what we need.

“Not only full-back. We need, I think, in three, four positions.

“But, at the end, it is the owner, the club, to decide to bring anyone or not.

“I can say my opinion, I can say my idea, I can explain what we need if we want to compete in this way.

“Otherwise, we have to accept the different opinion.”

Albion have suffered setbacks at full-back – including Pervis Estupinan and Tariq Lamptey – and further forward in wide or No.10 areas, with Solly March, Julio Enciso and Ansu Fati all ruled out for significant periods.

De Zerbi said on Saturday that Estupinan, Lamptey and Adam Webster were all some way from returning although the former appeared in a video shot at training this week.

He could be seen taking part in a rondo.
