Kaoru Mitoma is still out of action for Japan – but he could get chance to play at the Asian Cup.
The Albion winger was not part of the matchday squad for the final group game.
Japan's 3-1 win over Indonesia sent them through to the last 16, where they will play one of Jordan, South Korea and Bahrain net Wednesday.
The hope with the Samurai Blue is Mitoma will recover from an ankle injury in time to feature at some point.
