Albion under-21s’ best-ever EFL Trophy run is over – but they went out with one final flourish.
The young Seagulls went down 4-1 at League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers in the last eight of the Bristol Street Motors competition.
They safely negotiated a tough first half – until conceding three times from the 40th minute.
Albion were four down and had seen Jamie Mullins sent off for his reaction to a tackle when they got on the scoresheet.
Luca Barrington rounded the goalkeeper to score after good work by Josh Duffus.
About 200 Albion fans made the trip to Adams Park to support Shannon Ruth’s side.
Albion: McGill, Nilsson (Slater 45), Jackson, Kavanagh, Samuels, Peupion (Smith 78), Hinchy, Chouchane (Knight 78), Barrington, Flower (Duffus 60), Mullins. Subs not used: Cahill, Ifill, Atom.
