Roberto De Zerbi said he was happy but not surprised to see his Albion side bounce back with a win over Crystal Palace.
The Seagulls hammered their old rivals 4-1 at the Amex, having powered into a three-goal lead.
It was a perfect response to the midweek defeat at Luton Town.
De Zerbi was asked about an “historic” result and replied: “I think in my time it is not the first historic day.
“We are very happy because it’s a derby and we made happy our fan.
“But I am not surprised for the reaction we showed.
“The win started on Tuesday after the Luton game.
“I am not surprised by this performance. I can be surprised by the Luton performance.
“For our team, a game like Luton can happen. Unfortunately, a blackout can happen.”
