On-loan Albion striker Deniz Undav is being tipped for a Germany call-up.

Undav has excelled for Stuttgart in recent weeks while top scorer Serhou Guirassy was away on international duty with Guinea at AFCON.

The 27-year-old scored and gave two assists in a 3-1 win at Freiburg on Saturday to add to a hat-trick against Leipzig in his previous outing.

He has scored 14 goals in his last 17 league and cup games.

Leading German newspaper Bild reported national team boss Julian Nagelsmann has already assured Undav that he will be called in for the next two international matches, against France and the Netherlands in March.

Former Germany star Felix Magath would be delighted to see Undav selected.

Magath told Sport 1 TV: “He shoots, he wants to score goals. That’s what you want to see, that’s playing football.”

Undav’s parents come from Turkey but he has said he would prefer to play for Germany, where he was born.

His 13 league goals put him fourth in the current Bundesliga goalscoring chart, which is led by England captain Harry Kane on 24, and have helped Stuttgart to third place in the table.

They have an option to make his loan more permanent this summer although it is understood the fee would be significant.

Mahmoud Dahoud made his debut as a 76th-minute substitute at Freiburg after his loan move from Albion on deadline day.

There is an option which would see Albion recoup ten million euros for a player they signed on a free transfer should Stuttgart wish to make things more permanent this summer.

Albion’s Pascal Gross has also emerged as a main player for Germany in recent times as they prepare to host the Euros in the summer.
