Albion fans will have to wait to see new signing Taylor Smith in action.

Th deadline day signing will again be absent when her club go to Wolves in the FA Cup this weekend.

Smith moved across the Atlantic on loan from Gotham at the end of January.

Her loan deal runs until the end of this season.

Albion interim head coach Mikey Harris said: “Taylor came to us with a viral infection first and foremost and that has set her back.

“She hasn’t played a huge amount of football in recent weeks so the most important thing is we get her conditioned and ready to play.

“The last thing we want to do is to put her in a position where she is at a high risk of injury.

“The first thing Taylor needs to do is get better because she has not been very well.

“Then it is just about building her up and getting her ready for match minutes.”

Harris said Albion are waiting on “a few bumps and bruises” from the midweek cup tie with Aston Villa which went to extra-time and penalties.

Bu he envisages some line-up changes.
