Albion suffered another Tottenham disappointment – this time in the final seconds.

We asked these long-time, match-going fans for their reaction to the 2-1 reverse in North London.

1. What were your thoughts on Albion’s performance at Tottenham?

James Heasman: For the second season running Brighton seemed to be the victim of some very poor officiating. The game was too big for the officials, and it feels the standard and level of consistency is getting worse. Brighton played some good football and other than a 20 minute spell at the start of the second half seemed the better team. The miss by Ansu Fati was disappointing and a couple of players had off days, but other than that we played well and probably deserved to win.

Colin Beales: For the second season running we left Spurs deflated. Maybe this time we weren't quite as good but should have gone home with a hard fought point. Once again the inconsistency of the refereeing was the key talking point on leaving the stadium not for any key decisions but a clear advantage for the home team.

2. Who stood out for you from the Albion team?

James Heasman: Lallana was fantastic for the period he was on the pitch, and looked a class above everyone else. I will however go with Jan Paul Van Hecke, who continuously improves and gave Maddison nothing.

Colin Beales: Steele made some good stops, but I'd probably go with Van Hecke who I thought was really solid at the back.

3. Should they have been more cautious in the late stages and looked to preserve the point?

James Heasman: Personally, I would have, but equally if I was manager we probably wouldn't be in Europe and experiencing such fantastic moments. Brighton play to win, and as fans we have to accept that in going for victory we will leave ourselves open at the back.

Colin Beales: Cautious is not really a word that has ever factored into the De Zerbi era. This one just didn't go our way in another game we'll get another goal.
