Julio Enciso is ready to step up his work in training.
Albion head coach Roberto De Zerbi revealed the Paraguay forward is closing in a Premier League return after a long-term knee injury.
Enciso has been working with the squad in the last fortnight.
He is not part of the group from whom De Zerbi will select a 20-man matchday squad to face Sheffield United.
The Seagulls’ head coach said: He has started working in one part of the training sessions with us.
"Without risk we would like to push harder next week and I think in 15 days he can be available to come on the bench."
Albion go to Wolves in the FA Cup in ten days’ time, then visit Fulham the following weekend.
