Roberto De Zerbi welcomed back his wing wonders as Albion sped to a record win.

Kaoru Mitoma and two-goal Simon Adingra starred as the Seagulls secured the club’s biggest-ever away success in the top flight.

Danny Welbeck, Facundo Buonanotte and an own goal also scored in the 5-0 success over ten-man Sheffield United at a stunned Bramall Lane.

Head coach De Zerbi opted to start with Adingra after his AFCON exertions.

He said: “Playing this game without Mitoma and Adingra should be a very big problem.

“In the winger position, we tried a lot of times one-to-one.

“If you try one-to-one with Adingra and Mitoma, it’s better than other characteristic of players.”

United defender Mason Holgate was red-carded on 13 minutes after scything down Mitoma.

De Zerbi said: “We played very well, especially in the first half because it was very difficult to find the right moment, the right space, to shoot, to score, to try man-to-man, one-to-one.

“I am sorry for the red card, sincerely, because I would to play every game 11 against 11.

“It is not always an advantage to play with one player more, especially if the characteristic of the opponent is like Sheffield United because you can find it more difficult to score.
