Albion ran riot at Bramall Lane, led by their star wingers.

There were plenty of enjoyable performances as the Seagulls exerted total control over the ten men.

Bart Verbruggen 7/10

Made the first save of the contest, with a sharp parry low to his right, and went on to enjoy a winning Prem clean sheet. Relieved late on when he came for a cross and arrived second.

Adam Webster 7/10

Appeared to do fine on his return, playing on the right of the three. But Albion did not need three centre-backs and was taken off at the break.

Jan Paul van Hecke 8/10

The central man in the three, which says plenty about his growing presence and importance. Was alive to potential counter-attacks as United were pinned back.

Lewis Dunk 8/10

Not really tested as a defender and kept the ball moving as Albion looked to build-up. Played a big part in the first goal, both in forcing the corner and getting his head to it at the far post. Almost headed one in himself on half-time.

Tariq Lamptey 7/10

Played the first half down the left, getting forward and combining with the Mitoma although he wasn’t great defensively/ Booked for a foul right on half-time and then taken off.

Billy Gilmour 7/10

Business as usual in midfield as he kept things ticking over and got the ball moving.

Pascal Gross 8/10

In a game which was a statistician’s dream, he set a new Albion record of nine assists in a Prem season. The stats won’t show the big part played in the first two goals and the fifth as he pinged passes, whipped over crosses and popped up in dangerous spaces.

Facundo Buonanotte 7/10

Be it from 25 yards or inches, he is deadly at Bramall Lane. Seemed to be the chief irritant to United, and Vini Souza in particular.

Simon Adingra 9/10

Maybe he was expected to play only a limited role after his AFCON exertions and celebrations? Yes, right! Constantly stretched and tested the Blades and, after his life-changing week, was getting better in the later stages.

Danny Welbeck 7/10

Leads the team from the front and gets others involved. Didn’t stand on ceremony as he thumped home the second goal and maybe should have had one or two more.

Kaoru Mitoma 9/10

Hugged the touchline but was central to so many important moments. Looked like he could beat players with ease when he picked his moments. It’s maybe a surprise he did not score but his ball in for the OG was worth half a goal.

Subs - Igor Julio 7/10

Strong and steady as he held the fort after going on as sub on the left.

Jakub Moder 7/10

Sent on as someone who could make runs in behind the defence. It didn’t happen perhaps as often as Albion would have liked but he helped stretch United.

Evan Ferguson 7/10

Thumped a header straight at Foderingham in his pursuit of a goal.

Ansu Fati, Pervis Estupinan N/A

Joined the fun for the closing stages, with the former showing trickery ahead of the last goal.
