Albion produced a big finish to complete a precious 7-3 win at Bristol City in the FA WSL.

Three late goals, with Katie Robinson instrumental, settled a captivating contest at Ashton Gate and took the Seagulls eight points clear of their hosts, who occupy the relegation place.

Albion led from the 20th minute, when Elisabeth Terland scored the first of her two, but saw their win come under threat when two quick goals got City back to 4-3 going into the closing stages.

A recent shortage of goals was forgotten as the Seagulls created a host of chances – although City might have scored more themselves.

Terland appeared at the far post to convert when Guro Bergsvand touched on a corner.

Good work from Vea Sarri on the left led to Pauline Bremer hitting the post and then reacting the quickest to put away the rebound.

Megan Connolly replied soon after the break with a superb free-kick but Albion looked home and dry when Terland struck amid penalty area chaos, then Tatiana Pinto headed home.

Brooke Aspin and Amalie Thestrup had most of a crowd of 3,648 in raptures as they got City back to 4-3.

At that stage, Albion were being forced to defend strongly and throw bodies at shots.

But Madison Haley tucked home a low cross from Robinson to ease nerves.

Robinson was tripped by Connolly, allowing Vicky Losada to score from the penalty spot on 90 minutes.

Then, midway through ten added minutes, Robinson’s perfectly timed run took her on to Lee Guem-min’s through ball before finishing coolly.

Albion move up two places in the table to ninth.

With realistic relegation concerns now surely banished, they will turn their attention to Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final at home to Manchester United.
