Simon Hooper will referee Albion against Burnley for the second time this season.
The Swindon-based official also took charge of the 1-1 draw between the sides at the Amex.
He has been appointed to the middle at Turf Moor with support from video assistant Robert Jones, who also had that role when Albion played at Arsenal last Saturday.
It is more than 15 years since Hooper first took charge of an Albion game, when they drew 0-0 with Tranmere at Withdean.
He has sent off four Albion players, none of them in the last ten years.
The four to have seen red were Gavin Hoyte, Ashley Barnes, Gonzalo Jara Reyes and Adrian Colunga.
In recent weeks he refereed the Seagulls’ 4-1 win at home to Crystal Palace and 3-0 defeat at Fulham.
Across all competitions, he has shown 124 yellow cards and three reds in 29 fixtures this term.
The full officiating team for Burnley v Albion is as follows.
Referee: Simon Hooper. Assistants: Adrian Holmes, Simon Long. Fourth official: Geoff Eltringham. VAR: Robert Jones. Assistant VAR: Derek Eaton.
