Jayden Seales has returned to the Sussex squad for their top-of-the-table clash at Lord’s.

The county lead the way in Vitality County Championship division two as they visit Middlesex, who are second.

Sussex won a thriller by 21 runs inside three days at home to Yorkshire last weekend.

They then followed from afar as Middlesex secured an equally exciting two-wickets win over Glamorgan at Cardiff.

That left Middlesex on 89 points compared to Sussex’s 96 going into the seventh round of matches.

Seales remains the leading wicket-taker in the division going into what will be his last game for the county this season.

He missed the Yorkshire game due to a tight groin but Sean Hunt impressed and is also in the squad at headquarters.

The match represents a first return to Middlesex for Sussex skipper John Simpson since his close-season move between the clubs.

Simpson said: “Sixteen years and a lot of very good memories at the home of cricket.

“I’m looking forward to getting back there and competing against my old team-mates.”

After some initial confusion, Sussex have confirmed Ollie Robinson is part of the squad.

Sussex: from Alsop, Carson, Carter, Clark, Coles, Crocombe, Haines, Hudson-Prentice, Hunt, Lamb, Pujara, Robinson, Seales, Simpson.
