Bart Verbruggen is off to a winning start at Euro 2024 as the Holland No.1.

But there was disappointment for his Albion colleague Jakub Moder as his Poland side lost 2-1 to the Dutch.

Verbruggen made four decent saves low down and a late parry at crossbar height as his team came from behind to take the points.

He had no chance when Adam Buksa headed Poland in front from an early corner.

Cody Gakpo levelled for the generally dominant but wasteful Dutch by half-time.

Moder’s introduction in midfield at the break helped Poland assert themselves and he produced some dangerous passes and crosses.

But Holland went ahead with a sharp finish by their own sub Wout Wieghorst on 83 minutes.

Verbruggen dived to his left in added time to gather a dipping effort hit by Moder from well outside the box.

He then kept out a drive from Nicola Zalewski right on full-time.
