Matt O’Riley has undergone successful ankle surgery.
Albion’s recent signing from Celtic could return towards the end of 2024.
O’Riley was injured in the first few minutes of his debut due to a bad challenge by Jay Williams of Crawley.
Speaking to the Albion Podcast, chairman Tony Bloom said he was “hugely disappointed” by the “horror challenge” that ruled out O’Riley.
Bloom said: “We are really looking forward to seeing him back at some point in the latter part of the year.”
In The Argus and at theargus.co.uk on Wednesday, Bloom speaks about the transfer window and his target for this season as well as his working relationship with Fabian Huerzeler – and how it differs from that with predecessor Roberto De Zerbi when it comes to new signings.
