Jakub Moder has revealed why he remained with Albion going into the new season.

Now he is looking forward to showing Fabian Huerzeler what he can do in training.

The midfielder is currently away with Poland ahead of Nations League duty.

But he is also keen to get back into the Premier League action.

He at one stage seemed set to join Leicester City in the summer but remains a Seagulls player.

Moder was affected by injury after playing for his country at Euro 2024.

He told a press conference while on national team duty: “Fabian Huerzeler wanted me to stay at the club and be part of the team.

“He's only seen me in full training for a week now.”

Moder is aware his game time might be limited with Poland, who face Scotland tomorrow and Croatia on Sunday.

He said: “I missed the pre-season and the beginning of the season. I lack rhythm.

“I'm probably not ready for a full match.”

Moder could go up against his former Scotland colleague Billy Gilmour and said: “The Scots will press high, all over the pitch.

“It's important not to lose the ball stupidly.

“I like playing like that, when I have the ball at my feet. I like to direct.”
