Ferdi Kadioglu can add flexibility, courage and speed to Albion’s season.
But Fabian Huerzeler says the summer signing will need time to adapt.
Kadioglu made his Seagulls debut in the later stages of the 0-0 draw with Ipswich.
His performance attracted mixed reviews but was his first significant playing time for more than a month.
Huerzeler looks forward to seeing more from him after he finished the Ipswich game as an attack-minded left-back.
The head coach said: “I think he needs a little bit of rhythm.
“He needs to adapt to our style of play.
“He had to wait a little bit for his debut but now he is in the team.
“I am sure he will help us with his flexibility, with his courage to play out from the back, with his speed.
“But, again, it will take time to adapt to the Premier League.
“It will take time to adapt to our style of play.
“We need to give him this time and we need to help him.”
Albion host Wolves in the Carabao Cup tomorrow and the third-round tie would appear an opportunity to give Kadioglu more playing time.
It could also offer an opportunity for players including Evan Ferguson, Simon Adingra, Julio Enciso and Adam Webster to shine.
