Albion suffered a narrow WSL defeat at Manchester City – after causing their hosts a few problems.
Khadija Shaw deftly turned home a low cross just before the break to give City their 1-0 win.
Her strike cam moments after Fran Kirby was denied when Albion fashioned their clearest chance of the game.
Albion played some fluent football in the first half and had City at full stretch at times.
But City took control in the second period and would have added to their tally but for some poor finishing and some good goalkeeping by Sophie Baggaley.
Albion boss Dario Vidosic said: “I’m obviously disappointed that we lost but also encouraged.
“There was some really good stuff that we have been working on and to be able to apply that against not just one of the best teams in England but in the world is encouraging for us going forward.”
